Spring has been late in arriving to Kincardine. Still the frost sparkles on the windows, the snow lingers in the valleys and I wear my winter coat when I go out to walk the dog. This morning, though, we were able to walk on the beach for the first time in months. The ice is breaking up and pulling away. The sand is exposed and the treasures washed up during the blustery, stormy winter nights are revealed daily as the hard-packed snow recedes. I found a small piece of green shore glass shining amongst the stones. I picked it up and tucked it in my pocket. It is a promise of the lovely weather ahead.
I have been hard at work in my studio. I have decided on a warm, Sunrise/Sunset colour family for Spring/Summer 2018. I will be using clingstone fruit shades such as peach, apricot and light ‘blushing’ plum. I will include warm rust and copper tones along with soft buttery yellows, golds and creams. I have done a collection in spring green with a hint of watery turquoise and sandy brown. I have brought back my summer denim blue and my cool, refreshing grey and white combination. Also, by popular demand, I am again offering black with grey and silver.
I am happily anticipating warmer weather and with it the fun and friendly interactions I enjoy with all of you when I meet you at my shows and elsewhere. I hope spring finds you all well and in good spirits and ready to embrace the coming season.
Looking forward to connecting with all of you in the near future,
Until then, have a lovely springtime!
